Main forming method for alumina ceramic components

January 06, 2017

The main forming method for alumina Ceramic Components include dry pressing, casting, extrusion, cold isostatic pressing, injection, casting, hot pressing and hot isostatic pressing and and other many methods.

In recent years, some new shaping method were to be developed at home and abroade, such as direct coagulation cating gel, injection moulding and centrigugal casting and so on. What's shaping method is more favorable to your products ? it depends on different shapes, sizes, shapes and precision grade of ceramic components.

It herewith mainly introduce dry pressing:

Alumina ceramic forming techniques are limited to simpleand a wall thickness exceeding 1mm, object of the length to diameter ratio is less than 4:1. Uniaxial or biaxial forming method. Compressors are available in both hydraulic and mechanical, semi-automatic or fully automatic molding method . Compressor pressure is 200Mpa. yield of up to 15~50pcs per minute. Due to hydraulic press machine stroke pressure evenly, so the powder filling when there is a difference between suppression of different heights . And mechanical compressor pressure size because of powder filling change lead sintering shrinkage differences impact product quality. Dry powder particle size distribution during mold filling is very important . Filling accuracy has great effect on manufacture of alumina ceramic parts dimension precision control. Powder particles greater than 60 µ m, 60~200 will be given maximum freedom of movement between effects, get the best effect of pressure molding.
